You are almost certainly logged in as an administrator (admins always bypass). Test in a private/incognito window or a different browser.
My changes are not showing on the live site.
Click Save changes, then clear any caching/optimisation plugin or host cache. Exclude the holding page from full-page caching so the subscribe form's security token stays fresh.
Does switching template lose my text and emails?
No. Content, colours, subscribers and links are shared across all templates. Switching only changes the layout (and loads that template's suggested palette, which you can override).
Can developers hook into new subscribers?
Yes. Use do_action( 'jazital_cs_new_subscriber', $email, $record ) to push captured emails into your own mailing-list provider or CRM.
Does the holding page block the REST API and feeds too?
Yes. While the site is restricted, /wp-json/ and /feed/ are closed to anyone who could not see the site in a browser, and return HTTP 503. Requests that must keep working are not touched: anyone who can bypass the gate, anyone who can edit posts (so the block editor keeps working), the API index, oEmbed, the block renderer, Site Health and the batch controller.
